I have tried to get my hands on some of the half time shows forever. Kathy... can you make it happen?? By the way, I ran into Mike Strausser at one of the LSU (the national champs) football games. It was a homecoming game and he was with the band as they walk through the crowd on campus during the pre-game. He looks just the same, said he was teaching up north like in Michigan or something, and he seemed to be doing great. He looked happy and energetic with a big smile but a little less and smaller hair. Tom

Traci has come to the rescue. Mr Hooten and Mr Slayton gave her tapes in various ancient formats. Traci is in the process on converting the ones that she can. Some of the more difficult ones are on 1/2" video and we can't locate a viewer anywhere in town.
Most of these are unmarked so they need to be viewed before we put effort into converting. Any ideas out there?

by 1/2 inch video, do you mean the old 8mm film rolls?
it's too late now for the reunion but I've done a lot of video restoration work with our old skate board videos. I have a 8mm player too but it's at home in dade city. There are companys who do great conversion on that type of film.

Traci already go the 8mm converted so we have at least one film to view for the reunion. The 1/2" video is technically called "Half Inch Open Reel Format" (I think). Really old stuff.
I found some sites that will do it for a fee ..some are in the UK.
If anyone has any ideas let us know.
Plans are to try and get the tapes converted for historical purposes

Okay, I've found two places that looks like they can do it if it is half inch open reel format. neither is close.

Has anyone asked PJC's production department if they have any old equipment?

I've found http://www.vidipax.com/index.php
and http://www.videointerchange.com/price_list.htm that look like they can do it.

Btw, I can do restoration of video and photos once it has been converted to digital formats. I don't have high end professional equipment but I can improve color and the overall appearance of the video.
